Hudson's Bay Co. fort on south side of Assiniboine river, 2 miles above mouth of Souris river, and about 17 miles below present city Brandon. Built 1794. It was burned 1814 and rebuilt. This was the chief Hudson's Bay Co. fort in that region for 20 years. It does not appear on the Company's lists later than 1856 and was probably closed about 1860 through failure of trade.
