A Hudson's Bay Co. fort on Fort Island at north end of Trout lake (Fawn lake) near the source of Fawn river, tributary of the Severn river, in northern Ontario. Built about 1830, or earlier and in operation to date. The North West Co. had a post on Trout Lake in 1793 and to this the Hudson's Bay Co. may have succeeded.
