A small Hudson's Bay Co. post at mouth of Duck river, west shore of lake Winnipegosis. It was established 1859. Stood at bottom of the bay, 70 yards back from the lake. Abandoned during the autumn of 1887, a new store being opened at Pine River on west bank about 1&fract12; miles from the mouth. This was always a small outpost, not included in lists of forts. Shown on map Forest Distribution Tyrrell (No. 43).
